”God isn’t finished yet”
“You know what I did learn? That Jesus loved those kids, and so did my parents, and so did the people at church.”
“God loves the unlovable.”
“He’s called us as followers to love the unlovable as well.”
“They were willing to do things that cost them a lot, in all areas of life.”
“It cost them to take the love of Jesus to this community.”
“Their actions and the sacrifices that those people made are proof of faith, and proof of conviction in the call that God had given them.”
“They were absolutely compelled to reach this community.”
God is not ashamed to be called their God.
- Hebrews 11:13-16
- Many people went to their graves not seeing the fulfillment of the vision and call God gave them.
- “They didn’t see the whole family who came to Christ because they picked up three girls on the church bus every week for Sunday school.”
- They did that for very little earthly reward and actually did that at great sacrifice to themselves and their family.
- God was proud of them.
- God was proud to be their God because they exhibited His heart for the lost and needy people.
- They exhibited “true religion”.
You too have been given a vision and a call.
- John 4:35-37
- Look at the “fields”, they are ripe for harvest!
- The people in this community are ripe for harvest.
- People are ripe to hear God’s truth from the Word.
- Don’t be caught waiting for tomorrow or some time in the future to be about the work of harvesting souls.
- God uses you and I to be His hands and feet to do the work.
Today is the day of salvation.
- 2 Corinthians 6:1-2
- There’re people all around you all the time that today, this season, is the time for their salvation. And they need someone to share the gospel with them.
- It won’t always be the day of salvation. When Jesus returns it will be over.
God isn’t finished yet.
- He has brought you to this place, at this time to work in the harvest fields – to make disciples of Jesus.
- Our mission, the vision, is not fulfilled yet.
- We have been given a call – a vision.
- Seek the heart of God that’s behind the vision.
To him whom much is given, much is expected.
- Luke 12:48
Don’t become weary in doing good (Kingdom work).
- Galatians 6:9-10
- Don’t give up!
- Keep on keeping on!
You only see dimly what God is planning.
- 1 Corinthians 2:9-10
- Learn to live by the things the Holy Spirit reveals to you.
God is looking for today’s faithful servants.
- 2 Chronicles 16:9
- God is looking for people who will pour out their life for His purposes, who will lay aside their own personal desires and their own personal comfort to obey whatever he shows them.
- Are you willing to be one of those people? The choice is yours.
- God has promised to strengthen those who answer His call.
If Jesus doesn’t return, will Living Hope be a beacon of light and hope in this community in 50 or 100 years?
Will others reap where you have sown?
